April 10th: The bill has been vetoed!
April 2nd: The politicians in Arizona are about to sign into law a bill that would mandate sites like e621 to either impose age verification on all users or be at a risk of lawsuits. Such system would be required to go through third party vendors, who in turn must go through a government database to verify every user's age. This is not only a major violation of privacy, but it also opens up a very real danger of identity theft through phishing schemes and other methods, not to mention that we would not be able to control any of that information to make sure it is permanently deleted after age verification is complete.
Unfortunately, Arizona is the state out of which e621 operates, which means that this law will almost certainly affect us if it is to pass. If want to help us ensure that this site can continue to serve you without being required to know who you are, please ask the Arizona governor to veto this bill.
Please, help us get the word out by letting others know about this issue.

We still have a Discord server, come talk to us!

MemberHalf of your favorites are cub art. So are mine, but I think that makes me qualified to beg the question, are you REALLY going to judge someone's tastes right now?
EpicWinNoob
MemberAlso it just occurred to me, you were going to commission them for something you liked, clearly, of their work. But now you won't commission them because they like something you don't and aren't forcing you to look at?
That's beyond petty and a disservice to artists everywhere with that kinda attitude.

MemberSo instead of just using your blacklist, you not only go through the trouble to find an example that you didn't have to and therefore not look at, you then also demonstrate that you have to go to an entirely different alias of that artist, showing the artist is responsibly doing everything they can to separate content that may be extreme and disliked by certain people so others don't have to view it if they don't want to and would need to seek it out purposefully.
All you've done is make me respect the artist more and you, far less.

MemberNobody's going to dig deep to try and do the mental gymnastics to "attach" you to scat porn if you commissioned a feet pic, nobody would even have to know if you just said you wanted it to be delivered directly to you privately or only anonymously posted without mentioning you. In fact you'd be more likely to be accused of being a pedophile with all of the cub porn, openly sitting in your publicly visible favorites list. Which, it's kinda strange that you'll risk being associated with something arguably comparable to pedophilia in a place that takes two clicks to see than being associated with scat from an artist that separates their work into two completely different identities and would take more effort to force a connection between. All that does is look like you're projecting and trying as hard as you can to distance yourself from it by putting up a smoke screen of "HAHAHAH wow look at that, they like this sttuff, I don't like that stuff, pfft imagine liking that stuff hhhahhha, gross losers."
All the while both you and I could both just go back to looking at our cub porn and not throw stones in glass houses and call people degenerate when you're just as much as the rest of us. Why not just be chill? All of which I am saying as someone who has scat content blacklisted as well.
