To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Stella was treating Octavia like shit in the actual show

Yeah this seems like something Stella would do.

As little as we know about Stella's relationship with Octavia I highly doubt that she was ever verbally or physically abusive towards Octavia given that nothing like that seems to have been indicated in the show as of yet. And while as under her thumb as he was I doubt even Stolas would have tolerated that and could have potentially resulted in a quicker divorce and ruined Stella's pursuit for prestige far earlier on which she probably would not have wanted.

While it is possible the sort of vibe I get of Stella is either more or less an indifference to Octavia at best or at worst someone she could potentially try to stay on "good terms" with and try to be used as a potential bargaining chip against Stolas. I mean Octavia is still technically 17 and the precautionary heir to the Goetia Family so going through this divorce is likely going to involve a pretty messy custody battle. It'd be something Stella would undoubtedly fight tooth and nail to win if she want's to maintain her prestige and status with the Goetias.

Lashing out at the precautionary heir; the entire purpose behind their marriage, would probably be even more scandalous than fucking an imp. Any time she got upset with Octavia, she probably just took it out on Stolas instead.
