Simply put, both species share a common ancestor. Over time, some members of this common ancestor became more feral fox-like while others became more anthro fox-like. As time went on, the two groups of common ancestor became two separate species that continued to change and develop further away from that common ancestor and each other. So, basically, that feral fox isn't the ancestor of any anthro foxes. It's a sibling species from the same ancient ancestor.

It's not furry logic. The question is just a modification of the the century+-old question, "If humans evolved from apes, why are there still apes?" The answer is the same. If someone's brain seizes up because of that, it's because it's an answer they don't want to hear, not because it's "furry logic".
