  • Poor dude he should be a little bit more happy. He killed a thief and saved that woman's store from getting robbed.

Alas it is not so black-and-white; Baxxid have a much different culture from humans.

  • Ahh best guess this is some kind of psionic interrogator. For a species that does not have spoken language this is likely most invasive. hence the taboo black cloth and sunken appearance.

  • Didn't notice the first time, but Kalgkur is gouging the stone with his claws in that last panel.

So whatever this new arrival is doing probably isn't the most pleasant experience.

My dude, the last two pages were dedicated to outlining why this isn't a happy time.

I'd be more worried if he wasn't shaken at killing someone for the first time.

  • Could be reading this wrong as it looks a bit jumbled. But uhhhhh "killer" is what the Morse code is roughly saying. Soooooo this may not be good for poor kalgkur :(

  • Considering Kalgur's sudden panic, he is expecting something worse than death. He was prepared for death, maybe even hoping for it tobe set free of guilt. If the black-cloth was to be his executioner I think he would have been... if not calmer at least stoically submissive.

  • If the new Baxxid's there to probe Kalgkur's memories, it could possibly lead to Kalgkur's situation improving. It'd also help him, I'm sure, if there were a witness to come forward who saw exactly what happened between Kalgkur and the thief.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kalgkur got the one claw stuck in the ground in front of the thief, struggled to remove it, panicked, then got it out just in time, but in his panic got the thief from behind with his other claw.

Also, it looks like Kalgkur cleaned himself, or was cleaned, before he was imprisoned.

Given his reaction I'd say its about equal to some poor cartoon character seeing the executioner appearing before them. The freaking out and panicking all the while tearing up the walls of what cell they are being contained in.

I hope not that is not the case.

KALGKUR in morse is -.- .- .-.. --. -.- ..- .-. which doesn't match the morse code in any of the three places it's in. They're all different, so I think it might be random dots and dashes in each place.

  • Kalgkur thought he knew and accepted the seriousness of the situation before but it wasn't until now that it's really starting to sink in. The final panel gives me a vibe of fingernails scraping across a blackboard.

  • punishing kalgkur kinda feels wrong to me??

they basically thrust him into a guard roll with minimal training and their surprised when he kills someone?
theres no way he knew how strong he was this was an accidental death

Welcome to the world of Baxxids.
They are desperate to keep up the appearance and mentality of safe and respectful creatures to us, at great costs.

Yes I feel this is very wrong, he is our cinnamon roll.

Those Baxxids in charge of the justice system might not be fully aware of how important that training is, or even the fact that Kalgkur didn't have it.

  • I reckon exile is on the table he might end up working at the Yinglet Enclave or maybe he'll get offered up in a deal with Viz.

Or with Kass, since he seems to be forming an enclave of all sorts of different species.

I'd say the gleam is missing from its eyes.
    Kinda like it's dead...

What if the black flags represent diplomacy? Needing to deal with all the bureaucracy of the other races could dull one's sheen. Even among someone who's accepted that they're guilty, seeing a diplomatic representative show up to confront them could be scary. Who better to show you there's even more guilt than you expected?

  • So far every species seems to have "agents", spies, assassins and such and as we have seen yinglets even have dedicated sect of eyes. Given the description of black is do not approach, do not impede or suffer imprisonment...my guess these are the baxxid agents and maybe even worse the ones who silence problems.

Given the efficiency of the kill and the well placed blow, this could end in one of two ways. A fate worse then death or reassignment to a more...well useful sect for killers of their species. Which needless to say is not a good outcome either since he doesn't want that.
