Because science... Besides if someone came up to me tomorrow and said here's some armor or ditch your fleshy weaknesses and become a robot/Android you know damn well what most of us will say

I think most would go for the armor versus being turned into a machine. Some would likely find it an escape, but there are significant draw back. One being able to be turned off, indefinitely. Not dead, like in a permanent coma with no sense of passing time. Being corrupted by a virus. Having your identity completely wiped and the shell being used by something else.

I will take my fleshy body any day over those possibilities.
