I see it more as mutualistic symbiosis. Chaut medicates Sidra to free her of anxiety so she can function well enough to do her job with side effects obviously, and Sidra gives Chaut a home.

As horrific as this is from an objective standpoint...

She's happier and functioning with her addiction (like some people with weed)
