  • Awww, he is so cute. I wish it looked like he was tearing up a bit less though. Someone needs to come clean up his face tenderly with a washcloth.

    I would way no. While the tail fin is required for precise turns and diving, as shown in the first movie, it's not really amputated, more just shredded. The entire fin isn't gone. I wouldn't count it as amputee because it's lime the equivalent of us losing our big toe.

    Well actually the entire fin is gone, it's meant to parallel how hiccup lost his foot/Abit on the ankle etc, it's joked at the end of the first film that toothless "got him back" they're both disabled characters who learn to overcome it. I.e hiccup making a prosthetic hook peg for his amputated foot that helps control toothless's amputated now prosthetic tail fluke. :]
