April 10th: The bill has been vetoed!
April 2nd: The politicians in Arizona are about to sign into law a bill that would mandate sites like e621 to either impose age verification on all users or be at a risk of lawsuits. Such system would be required to go through third party vendors, who in turn must go through a government database to verify every user's age. This is not only a major violation of privacy, but it also opens up a very real danger of identity theft through phishing schemes and other methods, not to mention that we would not be able to control any of that information to make sure it is permanently deleted after age verification is complete.
Unfortunately, Arizona is the state out of which e621 operates, which means that this law will almost certainly affect us if it is to pass. If want to help us ensure that this site can continue to serve you without being required to know who you are, please ask the Arizona governor to veto this bill.
Please, help us get the word out by letting others know about this issue.

JanitorSo there's couple things that are effecting this in our guidelines: screencaps, quality standards and traces.
There has been several posts where the mod has been literally edited or traced over from exsisting official map. We do not allow low quality edits or traces so these kind of mods will never be here.
Couple mods has been exsisting artwork being made into mod in the game, these are also not acceptable because they are literally just modifying already exsiting artwork into game mod format. This isn't really relevant for us here, we don't host games or mods here, we host artwork, so having the artwork where the mod was made from is enough.
With many mods, the way they were recorded made it so that the quality of the video/GIF is basically unacceptable with any standards because of compression, framedrops and huge downscaling and pillarboxing.
Also like mentioned, our goal is to host the artwork, not the mod, so when the mod is uploaded with sub-par gameplay attached, I would count that as gameplay screencap rather than having the artwork at portrayal, but that's smaller aspect.
Screencaps are still deemed acceptable when they are shared by the creator, so I did ask admin about these, they said that if the mod is freely available and creator has shared any kind of version of it themselves, it's fine to simply redo the screencap at acceptable quality in these cases.

Also looking under beat banger deletions above, it seems like literallyjumble stopped doing pornographic content and removed everything, froobys mod was unacceptable quality and mod is not available and inkplasms mod was considered human under guidelines.
