April 10th: The bill has been vetoed!
April 2nd: The politicians in Arizona are about to sign into law a bill that would mandate sites like e621 to either impose age verification on all users or be at a risk of lawsuits. Such system would be required to go through third party vendors, who in turn must go through a government database to verify every user's age. This is not only a major violation of privacy, but it also opens up a very real danger of identity theft through phishing schemes and other methods, not to mention that we would not be able to control any of that information to make sure it is permanently deleted after age verification is complete.
Unfortunately, Arizona is the state out of which e621 operates, which means that this law will almost certainly affect us if it is to pass. If want to help us ensure that this site can continue to serve you without being required to know who you are, please ask the Arizona governor to veto this bill.
Please, help us get the word out by letting others know about this issue.

We still have a Discord server, come talk to us!

MemberI do not understand how this comment has a score of -5 on what is primarily a porn site.

MemberI dare to disagree; Many or even most people *do* use e621 to see/watch non-RL porn, yes, but I don't see it as "primarily a porn site" but rather as a place where people can share Art without limitation to SFW Content; Weither it's used for Porn or Art in general just for the enjoyment of Art, that entirely depends on the User.
I as an example *primarily* follow Matemi's Art for their awesome Story Writing rather than for the occasional NSFW Sequences or their stand-alone NSFW Arts (not that I don't enjoy them as well :P); same for most other artists I follow. (with "following" = saving a custom Search String via the Link I use to open e621 on my Incognito Window)
Well, on the other hand, I also use SFW Dragon Artworks to satisfy a certain kink of mine; A porn-typical usage of stuff that's obviously NOT porn material xD
On what I (and most people I guess) usually call a "porn page", you can find barely anything *but* porn while it's already 'kinda weird' if someone visits that page to consume posts primarily for their "Story" (not including 'Meme Watches' of course). Well, if you get what I mean
