I'd agree with you buuuuuut since a majority of the baddies in DBZ and DB Super were handled by Goku and without him we'd more then likely be smoldering ashes in the cold vacuum of space xwx honestly I just wish they had made him more fricken competent and you know talked the omni king(s) from you know....erasing the losing universes

**It only how my own oppignion of it and from what I remember from the show.

Goku whanted to try talking them out of it but Beerus and Whis stop him by fear(Beerus at least) they would just instantly erease him and probably the universe with it.
Common sense doesn't apply to the omni kings, they are basicly kids that does whatever they whant (Like playing some sort of marble game with planet insted)
The reason they accepted Bergamo request was probably because they find it interesting/fun or simply because they don't think he had a chance at all.
Don't forgot they already planed to erease all of the weakess universes (Because there are too much of them and it a pain to manage... What are they actualy doing? Other than behing all powerfull and destroying planet while playing games) and this whole battle between each other is actualy a way to save one universe that was already doom.

Anyway other than that... Bergamo could use this move on me anytime ! (Still a silly move name, make me laught)
