Correct me if I'm wrong (I have a hard time understanding things), but is the priest implying he is learning to accept and (Possibly) enjoy his "punishment" of God bringing Kazooie to him? I realize he questions what is happening to him on the first page, and to me it just seems like his statement on the last panel is connected to that somehow, especially to what he is telling Kazooie.
Forgive me if I'm wrong; I'm not good at interpreting this kind of speech :P

Hey, I just thought of something. Could he be the reason why she likes being a backpack? Hear me out. When goes to the village for something, he fears he can't leave her alone since some one might want the 'Cleanse the Evil' that has claim the church and the priest inside. So he carries her in a backpack so he can protect her better?
