April 10th: The bill has been vetoed!
April 2nd: The politicians in Arizona are about to sign into law a bill that would mandate sites like e621 to either impose age verification on all users or be at a risk of lawsuits. Such system would be required to go through third party vendors, who in turn must go through a government database to verify every user's age. This is not only a major violation of privacy, but it also opens up a very real danger of identity theft through phishing schemes and other methods, not to mention that we would not be able to control any of that information to make sure it is permanently deleted after age verification is complete.
Unfortunately, Arizona is the state out of which e621 operates, which means that this law will almost certainly affect us if it is to pass. If want to help us ensure that this site can continue to serve you without being required to know who you are, please ask the Arizona governor to veto this bill.
Please, help us get the word out by letting others know about this issue.
For some further information on what the bill does have a look at https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2586/
We still have a Discord server, come talk to us!

MemberDoes anyone else get the feeling that the last two panels are oddly... sedate?
Given the long-established bond between these two, and Gengar's literal disintegration in the preceding pages, I'd have expected these two to run toward each other, Jen shouting "Gengar! You're okay!", and hug each other tightly for at least two minutes before Gengar noticed any blood.
Instead, we get panel 5, where Jen looks like she's thinking, "Oh, you're back. That's cool, I guess."
Just doesn't seem to fit the characters, emotionally...

MemberI think Jen is still a bit stunned/in shock due to recent events.

MemberThere might be a few explanations
1)She might be in a state of semi-shock after all a bunch of power just went through ehr as it restored the world. It's kinda like an adrenaline rush when a person isinjured, the pain comes after the adrenaline disappears
2)She already knew her big bro was alive, he just became solid again. besides, she does care for him, also, she worried when she thought he was in danger
After that, she showed relief when he was okay

Member(Re #2: She knew Gengar was still alive in some sense, but not that he was fine, let alone that he'd be back to his old self after fixing the world. I think #1 is the stronger option.)
These are reasonable interpretations, to be sure. For me, the problem isn't so much the lack of an interpretation that makes sense (otherwise you'd have a straight-out non sequitur), it's that said interpretations have to exist on their own without any support from the comic itself.
As in, I can believe that Jen is stunned/shocked after what happened, but that's not being shown anywhere on the page. All I see is Jen getting up, and standing there, with a blank expression. We kind of have to fill in the blanks for the moment to make sense emotionally.
