Sucks seeing the main links be stuff like bsky, don't like the websites like that requiring 'invites' from other people and limiting it. Will never take off. Can't even see the content unless you're signed up.

Originally I had these up on twitter but twitter didn't like that.
bsky is just alternate hosting for now, it does suck that it requires a sign up but I think thats getting rolled back and everyone can view posts soon.

Yeah, it's only on invites because it's still in beta. It'll open to all.

its just another closed source site, entirely moderated by paid employees, and under a stock company whose leadership and goals might change on the whim.

just like tumblr, just like twitter, just like any other such social media site; it will get celebrated at first, and slowly erode in quality over the decades, as people find it had to switch, not because there arent any good alternatives, but because none of their mutuals use it.
