Well they first showed up in 5 as Tonberi (or Dinglberry in the PSX remake) then they showed up in 6 as Pugs, then in 7 as Tonberries (although you could only encounter normal ones in the arena, you could encounter Master Tonberries in the final area) then in 8 as a GF, with Tonberry King as an optional boss, then in 9 in that area where weapon stats are inverted so that each character's initial equipment is the best weapon for them, then...

tl;dr: They've appeared in every FF since 5.

Faced some in FFXI, can be quite... unpleasant.

tl;dr: They've appeared in every FF since 5.

They show up in FFX inside the stolen fayth.
