  • Various edits, the most obvious being the lighting levels and colour boosting as well as manually highlighting all cum areas and the simplification of the internal knot veins. The veins are still there, they're just faded more

Also facial scar has been removed and sharpening is used to bring eye attention to contact points between the two of them, including penetration and the leg wrapping around his body. The sharpening also helps bring out the details of specific areas.

I really liked the original (Kyma is a great artist_, but the scar was triggering my OCD levels, so I did a full edit instead of just removing the scar to make it more worthy.

Comments on if this editing should be done to these kinds of images?

Most artists don't appreciate some random person coming in and altering their works without permission. If you feel the need to edit it for yourself, then keep it in your own collection.

    Hey.

Artists reserve the right to remove edits, but if you look at the "edit" tag there's quite a lot of them floating around and it isn't against the rules of the site on it's own.

On top of which at the end of the day they likely don't want to have a whole bunch of people asking about editing permission PMing them, messaging them etc.

At the end of the day, it's entirely up to the artist whether they care about edits or not, and you complaining versus over a thousand image edits on e621 isn't going to change how it operates.

Let the artists make their minds up.

Edits are not a bad idea, as long as artists are ok with that. But there should be more effort to that than just 3-5 minutes in a photoshop. Everyone can mess with colours a bit, and IMO its not enough to make a new post out of it.

For instance, if I would decide to put some effort to that pic, I would replace the background, make internal part much smaller, remove sphincter muscle around the knot, lessen the internal liquids, remove leak form the sub's cock and remove veins from both cocks.

I don't post images that are simply colours + lighting edits, if I feel they don't need more than that, they aren't the kind I put on e621.

I do list the edits I do at the comments and I do what I feel is necessary to make the image better.

Some edits really aren't needed, for example the background here. The background on this image would need to have the characters entirely rendered and the internal shot blurs out into the background, making it tricky to change.

And then you'd need to keep the artist signature unless you want to annoy them, which is another problem when changing this things background.

As for the other things you suggest, they make for a much more difficult edit, but I think they're going to try and change as much as possible rather than improve the image.

Your editing style is your own, the more you change about the image the less pleased the artist will be, I will warn you. I tend to keep the images where I modify proportions, take large parts out etc in my own collection so as not to anger an artist.

Another thing you need to keep in mind when editing for e621 is that you need to please the audience. So in this picture I didn't want to remove realism but wanted a sleeker look on the cocks so I only faded the veins to where they can be seen faintly so that it's still hinting at a realistic part.

That's also why I've kept the cum as it is, it's quite a bit but it's not bucketfuls in the kinky sort so I left it in.

Enough paragraphs though, lol, just have fun editing and improving other people's experience if you can.

I think you missed the point. Its disrespectful to alter an artists hard work just because you don't like one tiny detail. Kids these days.
