It hasn't been officially revealed exactly how Pokémon eggs are made.
And the "eggs" are actually closer to some sort of cocoon filled with energy than a literal egg.

My point is that Pokésex may not be involved in egg creation at all. It isn't confirmed any which way.

It hasn't been officially revealed that Pokesex is exist at all. Depends of those who draws this stuff. For example, sometimes we see a breeding between human & Pokemon, or between Pokemon that not compatible for each other.

Oh come on, you only get eggs when you put a male and female pokemon of the SAME EGG GROUP together, I think it should be obvious whats going on or this wouldn't be the case, for that matter pokemon wouldn't need genders to begin with if this wasn't the case.

You've got a point but, wailord and skitty share the same egg group and can make an egg.. tell me how that'd end up for that skitty if they tried the traditional means.
