I know this scene is a rough one for a lot of readers, so I wanted to let you all know it's close to being over. I'm ready to be done with it, too, if only because Lasker takes forever to draw. I gave him a complex design since he's not in the comic a ton and I thought it would help him make an impact, but god am I sick of doing the flannel on his shirt.

For those of you who are mad the story "got political", this chapter is called "The Politics of Lonely" for a reason. Also, you're kind of missing the forest for the trees.

  • I personally find this scene important in the overall lore of the character, it is interesting imo~

In my experience having only a couple of pages to signify someone is an asshat tends to make the comic feel rushed. While you aren't rushing the comic in my opinion, it does feel like him being an asshat is all he does have going for him. I still look forward to the next page regardless :D

  • Hear me out ok so get this:

Rae has a knife in hand right? Lasker has one working eye.

In all serious I do think it's great that AD is tackling a lot of issues with just one character. I am really looking forward to see how Rae develops and I hope he'll stay away from his Father.

  • That tears it. The only way I could sympathize for Lasker at this point is if he lost both his eye and secret gay lover in the '89 bombing of Roanoke Island Harbor, THEN immediately proceeded to save all the kids trapped in the ruins of the destroyed elementary school AND children's hospital.

Otherwise, Raeford, it's time to dump this hateful, judgemental, entitled turdnugget and run back to your new "daddy" Wilson.

Tf you mean though love, it's just straight up abuse!

This sort of people tend to genuinely think they are doing the right thing... so they worryingly do see it as "tough love"

  • Just really need this comic to end with Lasker falling down a flight of stairs or getting hit by a train or something

  • I was observing this conversation for a very long time now, but didn't wanted to say anything, because many users said almost the same as I would, BUT...
When I look on the son's angry expression, I hope he will slap his father right in the face and never come back.

  • wow he is even alluding to the ethno-religious affiliation of "those" doctors with that sound-alike, is there no end to his evil incorrect bigotistness?

  • Thing is, with all the sludge he's been spewing. The moment the kids turn some "tough love" on their parents, the rhetoric quickly changes to "Kids these days don't respect their parents". It's almost comical how likely it is.

  • I don't know what to say anymore. Dev's description for this page reminds me of myself when I'm writing a despicable villain for my tabletop game campaigns. I say bad guys don't deserve the threats and hate, they're people. My new take, take Lasker as an example of what NOT to be. Try to be respectful, no matter what. Just like Rae's doing here. He's not walked out yet. He's a stronger guy then I.

I never thought he was hot. His shit personality is just salt in the wound for me.

I only ask because several users said they'd still tap Lasker seven pages ago.
Hatefuck, I don't mind. But I'd blueball him, maybe leave him stepping on a Lego... with a needle pointing up.

  • Hm... Is it bad that I found a moment in all this to smirk at the thought that a duck just said "QUACK doctor"?
