April 10th: The bill has been vetoed!
April 2nd: The politicians in Arizona are about to sign into law a bill that would mandate sites like e621 to either impose age verification on all users or be at a risk of lawsuits. Such system would be required to go through third party vendors, who in turn must go through a government database to verify every user's age. This is not only a major violation of privacy, but it also opens up a very real danger of identity theft through phishing schemes and other methods, not to mention that we would not be able to control any of that information to make sure it is permanently deleted after age verification is complete.
Unfortunately, Arizona is the state out of which e621 operates, which means that this law will almost certainly affect us if it is to pass. If want to help us ensure that this site can continue to serve you without being required to know who you are, please ask the Arizona governor to veto this bill.
Please, help us get the word out by letting others know about this issue.
For some further information on what the bill does have a look at https://action.freespeechcoalition.com/bill/arizona-hb-2586/
We still have a Discord server, come talk to us!

MemberAh, the AK47, the best reliable assault rifle in the world, I like its variatian the Isreali Gal-li.

MemberThis looks great I love the style of art, one thing to note I see action but the picture looks a bit to still. Some blur or action lines around the end of the AK would have helped, but the artist still shows a great deal of skill.

MemberActually, the Israeli Galil, made by IMI is a combination of the best attributes of the Russian AK design (early prototypes were derived from the Finnish Valmet RK62, which is technically an offshoot of the AKM).
The variation shown here bears close resemblance to the Chinese Type-56 assault rifle, minus the swing-down bayonet.

MemberThe details on the rifle are impeccable. The only problem is its inconsistency in perspective. The front of the gun appears more perpendicular to the picture plane (particularly at the muzzle). Along with the shortening of the stock and angle of the magazine, the rifle appears to be bent to its right, away from the viewer.
The pose, anatomy, and technical skill present in the image is apparent, but the composition of the piece is slightly unbalanced. The focus is to the right of the image, centered around the soldier's head and shoulders, and the eye is drawn to the left towards the gun's barrel and muzzle flash. The movement of the piece is good, but the volume of negative space below and above the rifle leaves the viewer wanting more.
I'd like to see the focus of the piece shifted slightly towards the rifle, having the gun pointed more towards towards the viewer to get a better sense of depth and dimension. The empty space at the top and bottom left should be cropped out, too.
There. Non-weapon-related criticism.

MemberI noticed one or two inconsistencies as well. One of which is the position and shading of the clip. Makes my brain/eyes hurt trying to figure how it'd work. Props to the unknown artist :3
Other than that, phenomenal detail.

MemberOf all the weapons in the vast soviet arsenal, nothing was more profitable than Avtomat Kalashnikova model of 1947. More commonly known as the AK-47, or Kalashnikov. It's the world's most popular assault rifle. A weapon all fighters love. An elegantly simple 9 pound amalgamation of forged steel and plywood. It doesn't break, jam, or overheat. It'll shoot whether it's covered in mud or filled with sand. It's so easy, even a child can use it; and they do. The Soviets put the gun on a coin. Mozambique put it on their flag. Since the end of the Cold War, the Kalashnikov has become the Russian people's greatest export. After that comes vodka, caviar, and suicidal novelists. One thing is for sure, no one was lining up to buy their cars.
