5.6.: Recent changes in mating behaviors

Tribes in planet Cerinia, as mentioned before, are formed by many species of mammal like creatures, from common canine forms such as vulpine, lupine and canis forms to less common tribes formed by feline, felid and avine forms. Although there is a strict sense of rivalry between this separation of species, the season known as spring in most Cerinian jungles acts some sort of truce among these tribes.
Many females of the canine tribes, specially more the ones who focus in more traditional and peaceful customs, still prefer the usual custom to choose same species males, as they got the burden to perpetuate the next generation. This is of course due to the higher physiological instability caused by what most Cerinians know as mating season, or by lower tribesmen as "mating season".
However, it is known that more important females, especially the ones trained in great arts such as meditation, hunting or survival skills, have a bigger preference to meet males from different tribes, even different species. This kind of "extra-tribal" mating activities are mostly kept secret, as they might decay the pride of both tribes, but this also has shown the adaptability and endurance many tribes across the planet have shown as these also grant a positive relationship and ease the diplomatic tensions the more frequency these "unspeakable" acts occur.
It is the most common custom among all the tribes for the male to introduce to the female and boast its masculinity towards her, but there are more rare cases which have become more sporadic in the last decades of females also introducing themselves to the males of their interest. While as the common male presentation alludes to the most elder and correct times in which Cerinian lifeforms were more primitive, these new female introductions have become fashionable and great tokens of dare among strong and healthy Cerinian females in the same tribe.
The ritual works like this:
-If the female subject wears the usual wardrobe of her job, she removes it in front of his desired male.
-The female makes sure to completely expose her body as a sign of health and strength, as it eases the certain search of the male for these qualities.
-Redness and swelling in certain parts of the female body seem a confusing but certain sign for the forementioned "heat season". This also causes a distinctive pheromone release, unique in each species, but well known by every male, to locate different species females for such purpose.
-As a remnant of more primitive times, the male makes sure to use his muzzle (or beak in case of the avian cerinians) and tongue to check the body of his to-be mate. Many cultures and tribes differ in how to make sure a female is ready, but the most canine tribes agree the real way to ensure any female is ready is by licking her most sensitive parts and the crotch. High humidity levels make an ensured pass in this rite of passage for the female.
-Mating is mostly obvious as the couple mate and copulate to achieve the main goal: an impregnated female. However, these "rogue meetings" between tribes have shown an astounding statistic: mating between partners of different tribes not only seem more active, but also seem to last longer, mate much more times and meet with much more often than the usual "correct" couples. Even much more banal readings, such as the amount of seed released or satisfaction levels seem higher.
-The result of these "poaching" mating rendezvous of different tribe belonging beings show an astounding and revolutionary change on how couples across Cerinia should mate. Most intellectuals thought these called "inter-species" meet ups would cause a genetic decay on many known pools of species, but even the result of these matings seem too satisfying: non-pregnant females who have practised these ways seem to be more sexually active even in non-sexual active seasons. The spawn from these couples seem unusually healthy, and just become one species from any of the parenting sides or, even just more strange, in genetically well built hybrid results. This is not a small social change, but a whole mating revolution across a precious life-boasting planet like this, Cerinia.
