It's an anthropomorphic cat in a popular franchise. That the furry community would latch onto and make increasingly voluptuous depictions of it was expected. Look at how Renamon or Krystal are often depicted, for example, and compare that to how they look in their source material. This is not a new phenomena.

Well, Krystal does have a few poses in official art, plus her most iconic clothes were basically only covering her lady bits. Not hard to take it a step further, though there are the next steps of making F cups and all. (Plus, she did canonically bang her boyfriend in a timeline so someone's gotta draw it in this world.)

Renamon, yeah, that's a standard flat anthro design.
