This was an aesthic choice for the sake of presentation. I know the hair wouldn't typically survive but I would encourage people to employ suspension of disbelief.

All true except one thing. Remove word "furry" and insert pretty much _any_ fandom or niche group. It's enough to visit pixiv site just once to realize that just furries are very, very tiny slice of that, compared to just humans or anime-like characters :P
